Between Parted Curtains I Glimpse Tracks Leading out into Our Forever Home by SA artist John Foubister - Finalist in the 2024 Heysen Prize for Landscape.

Literal and metaphorical curtains open to reveal literal and metaphorical tracks. Tracks leading us out, and into, our forever home. Leading out over grassy plains and rolling hills to the always longed for valley that is quiet. While making this painting I initially had in mind the painting by Hans Heysen of his wife, viewed from behind, at her work table in front of a window with opened curtains.
