Willie's painting depicts his country in remote north western South Australia on the Anangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara Lands. It is a tjukurpa- creation story. The ngintaka (perentie) is a large monitor lizard that lives in burrows under the ground. They are an important totemic animal for Anangu people. The vibrant palette and bright colours are inherent in the desert landscape. He is influenced by his bush skills and his intimate knowledge of country.
Dimensions: 40cm square.
Materials: Wool (front), canvas (back), wooden buttons.
