Ngurunderi travelled in his canoe down the River Murray, when it was just a small stream. He was looking for his two wives and also chasing Pondi, the giant Murray Cod. Pondi made the twists and turns in the river was he swam, sweeping his huge tail from side to side. Ngurundjeri and Pondi made all the landmarks along the river and across to Kangaroo Island.
