Mango Tree at Dad's Place by QLD artist Mark Feiler - Finalist in the 2024 Heysen Prize for Landscape.

Mango Tree at Dad's was painted after a downpour when the sun had come back out and the piercing greens looked amazing and there was a wonderful relationship between natures colour and the red of the wheelbarrow. It was an inspired experience where I didn't have the inner monologue critic happening and just felt the flow of the afternoon. It was also the first time my nieces had taken an interest in me painting and I was describing to them how to mix colours. A wonderful way to spend the afternoon.
