Rachael Grigulis

Rachael Grigulis completed a Bachelor of Design in Jewellery and Metalsmithing through the University of South Australia in 1992 and soon after had a piece purchased as a Contemporary Art Acquisition by the Art Gallery of South Australia.

Rachael cherishes traditional, handmade techniques and aims to make contemporary works utilising these skills. She strives to design and construct jewellery that is unique, well made and touchable.

Rachael believes that a piece of jewellery is not just a visual object that makes a statement about who we are, but it should also be tactile and fun. For her, tactile is not only for the wearer, but for herself the maker too. It is about the entire process; concept; design; refinement; problem solving; construction.

Rachael has always had a love of architecture and an appreciation of geometric forms; clean lines; contrasting materials; the combinations of uniqueness with functionality/practicality.
