Collection: Waterport Pottery
Simon Russell Coote's journey into pottery and ceramics was inspired by his grandfather, an English studio potter. He completed his ceramics major in 1981 and settled on the Fleurieu Peninsula, crafting pottery for locals and tourists. In the mid-1980s, he established Waterport Pottery. After a stint in archaeology and urban planning, Simon returned to pottery in 2019, focusing on new techniques and materials. His work reflects diverse influences, fired at various temperatures from earthenware to porcelain, with a passion for functional pieces like teapots.
