Intro to character design + unlocking your creativity with Wen Dixon-Whiley

Ages 14 – 100

Join Visual Artist and Illustrator (& current exhibiting Artist) Wen Dixon-Whiley for laid back and fun workshop designed for people of all ages who want to tap into their inner creative streak and free the ideas in their subconscious.

What to expect:

Wen will share some of her favourite techniques, materials, inspiration sources and exercises she uses to come up with her creatures and characters, and you’ll have a chance to experiment with some of these techniques in the session yourself.

You will practice some simple drawing exercises that can help you develop exciting and unusual characters of your own.

You will also participate in a series of creative ‘unblockers’ designed to help tap into your inner creative self.

The basic art materials to complete this workshop will be supplied however if you have your own preferred drawing materials you are encouraged to bring them along.

An imagination is essential, but advanced drawing skills are not.

You’ll leave with: A mini ‘zine’ of more ‘creative unblockers’ to do at home and a sense of what’s possible!
